Ariadna returns to Pride in Art for the second time with her poetic paintings.

Painter Ariadna Sly explores femininity inspired by poetic works of Latin literature. She is inspired by the shapes of women body, showing the strength and vulnerabilities, to address the connection and similarities with nature. We caught up with Ariadna to see what she has been up to since she last exhibited at Pride In Art.

Pride In Business: This is your second time exhibiting in Pride in Art, can you tell us what have you been working on since the last time we saw you?

Ariadna Sly: Yes, this is my second time exhibiting at Pride in Art and I am very happy to participate again.

All this time I was working in nature, with Blooming Diversity. I went hiking several times, taking photos and painting in oil different landscapes that surround us. I participated in an exhibition to show part of the work I did.

Later I dedicated myself to make painting, focusing on the nude human body,

which is what I have been doing for several years. This time I included natures motives.

PIB: Your style is very romantic. Can you tell us about where you derive inspiration from?

AS: Literature is always a focus of inspiration, more so than I am a constant reader in Spanish. I find inspiration in art itself and in all the painters who excite me. In my paintings I seek to capture and provide those moments of connection with intimacy.

PIB: Have you notice any changes in the way your approach your art, since you became an immigrant?

AS: It is very likely that there have been changes in the art I make as one of the consequences of changing the culture I’m inserted. Experience in life is another factor. I think that my search for those moments of intimacy is also a search for identity.

PIB: As you know, Pride in Art is all about building community withing artists from LGBTQ+ and allies, is there any art communities that you would recommend to young artists to get involved with?

AS: Spanic Arts has many young artists wanting to show their art.

PIB: And where do you see your artistic career in the next few years?

AS: Making art for me is a necessity and a way of life, a constant way of creation and expression.
